  3. Oooh I love your blocks I might have to make a Witch is In and a Witch is Out one now too - such a fun idea. We dont really celebrate halloween that much here in the UK but whenever I have dressed up I have been a witch with some hand knitted stripy socks and a cloak I made with purple stars all over it. Thanks for sharing.

  4. I was a scarecrow a couple of years ago.

  5. I love your blocks! They might come in handy when I am having a "less friendly" day! I love the I miss my sister one too. It looks amazing! We don't do halloween here in The Netherlands....but we (well, us peeps in the south of the country anyway) do dress up during Carnaval (Dutch Mardi Grass). My absolute favourite costume from that has to be the flower costume my mum made for me when I was four. I looked adorable.....that hasn't happened since!

  6. oh what fun, all of your blocks are great! love the sister one, too funny! I usually tend to dress to my personality and go for the witchy look! Good luck with your new job.

  7. Great blocks!
I never dressed for halloween as a child - it wasn't really celebrated in the UK back then!! but my son who is at uni now has a fabulous pumpkin outfit he still likes to wear!

Sometimes I miss my sister is amazing !
And thank you for the give away... unfortualy overhere we don't celebrate halloween in the way you do so there aren't any dress up parties. But we do have Carnaval in february and then we can get dress-up. As a child I always was a cowboy or indian LOL

In Sweden we don´t celebrate Halloween in the same wicked way as you do, and therefore I don´t have any Halloween memories to share.
Thanks for sharing and for a great give away

  23. Oh, how fun! Love your Miss My Sister quilt, and Madame Samm does, too! As a child, I was a Tiger for several years with a plastic mask that had fuzzy hair sticky out all around it - very cool. As an adult, I've been a witch, a clown, and that's about it. Not very original, I'm afraid, but fun nonetheless. Happy Halloween!

  24. Love all your withes! Very nicely done. I have never dressed as a witch for Halloween, but I have been a gypsy, a bum, a scarecrow, and most recently Marie Antoinette. :)

  25. I don't know which blocks I like the best! They are all so cute! I don't dress up for Halloween. I don't have any trick or treaters here (I live in the boonies).

  26. All of your blocks are so cute, but I really love the "Sometimes I miss my sister.." block! It's adorable!
I can remember one year my daddy, who is an artist, draped an old sheet over me and painted a skeleton on it. So, of course, when my 3 year old son told me he wanted to be a skeleton for Halloween I painted a skeleton on a black costume and proudly dressed him in it. He cried. He wanted to be a "REAL" skeleton!

  27. Your blocks are so cute! I love all the sayings!
My husband and I (he is from Norway and we were newly married) went to a party as a troll couple. We had large crooked nosed, and frayed rope tails, etc.
    Thanks for sharing!

  28. I think your blocks are great, especially the witch's legs. I have dressed up for Halloween many times, my favorite being when my husband and I were raggedy ann and andy and our twins were little raggedly anns.

  29. Laura I just love these blocks - especially "the witch is in." Very, very cute! Dressing up I'm not so good at but the last time I did it I wrapped myself in aluminum foil and morphed into a robot. :) blessings, marlene

  33. When we were girls, my sisters and I would always dress as gypsies! We'd get to put on every piece of jewelry my mother had, and her red lipstick, wearing long skirts and peasant blouses. We all had long dark hair, so it worked! I loved to wear all the stuff, and it made it seem more fun, because my father's favorite phrase was "You children behave, or I'll sell you to the gypsies!"

    ReplyDelete
  34. And I'm a happy follower, too! :o) Happy Halloween!

  35. Cute project, and your pups are adorable!

  36. I remember one Halloweem in particular that I was dressed as a cat (of sorts), I had a cat mask and my Mom fashioned a tail out of a coathanger and stockings, oh and my nose was black (for a couple of days after). The weather was miserable with snow, winds and freezing!

    ReplyDelete
  37. and of course I follow you Fuzzy Hat!! :)

  38. Hi Laura Ann your witch blocks are so cute and I like the mug rug. We haven't had any trick or treat children either in two years which really disappoints me as I loved the little children. Maybe we both will get lucky this year. Thanks for sharing.

  54. Thanks for the wickedly witchy fun. It's more fun than watching a witch in a broom factory (a favorite commercial of mine). My favorite costume as an adult was that of a bag lady. I wore a stunning dark green trash bag with black stockings and heels.

  59. Tonight I'm just the candy hander but I made a very sexy black cat in my younger skinnier days! I've been a wood elf, Queen Elizabeth, a Marine in full camo, a gypsy, a bunny, a nerdy substitute teacher (not a stretch there) and of course a witch to name a few. I love your coven of witches. I'm following!

  71. Your blocks are wicked! I wonder if my sister would be offended by the last one? Well, she doesn't live very close by, so maybe she will never see it! I think it's funny! My DH and I dressed up as Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse one year and went to a house party. Unfortunately we were stopped by the police on the way for a burned out taillight. It was one of those embarrassing/funny moments (and we only got a warning and some chuckles)!

  72. Wicked, wicked, wicked! Terrific blocks! Love the sister one! Cute puppies.
My DH and I have dressed up as many things:
    DH: cowboy, me: indian maiden
    Fred Flintstone Wilma
our easiest "go to" costume is Harry Potter and Hermoine as they wear jeans and button down shirts,a tie and capes. It's easy once the capes are made to keep them hanging in the back of the closet. Just add some Nimbus 2000 broomsticks and a big white owl and glasses and we are good to go!

  73. Love your wicked sense of humor! I wore a poodle skirt (and blouse) this year. Thanks for the giveaway and participating in the Wicked hop!
