I thought I was the only one with this problem. I don't mend, I don't sew buttons, I can't read a pattern to make a costume for your kid. Friends ask me for these things all the time and I refer them to other people that are seamstresses or that place at the mall that does it in 10 minutes.
Sorry for the rant but thanks for the funny picture -- I might be printing it for my craft room.
My husband does the same thing (I hate mending), but he does horrid things for me like taking out the trash, putting air in the tires and cleaning out the cat litter boxes (gag). So, every now and then, I spend an hour mending his pants or shirts, and it's silly how happy it makes him. It's worth the hour or so. :)
Too funny! I hate mending and would rather just go buy my husband a new pair of pants rather then mend them, but I'll sew a whole quilt and not think twice about it. :O)
Well I see I am not the only one with family members asking me to put on bottons or sew a hem on something. If it miner I might take the time to do it, otherwise I take it to the cleaners and tell them I did it.

ReplyDeleteI know how you feel. I hate mending. It seems like such a waste of time.
