Happy Easter

Happy Easter to all!!

So, I hopped along this recipe
a couple weeks ago..
I'm a huge chocolate-holic...

Cadbury Mini Egg Cake Dip

1 box vanilla cake mix
2 cups fat free plain yogurt
1 cup fat free cool whip
1 bag Cadbury Mini eggs- crushed into little pieces

In a large mixing bowl, mix together your vanilla cake mix, plain yogurt & cool whip. Until all the lumps have disappeared.

Gently fold in the mini egg pieces until fully combined. Chill dip for at least 4 hours to over night.

Serve with graham crackers, animal crackers, or a spoon..

**to smash the mini eggs- I used my kitchen aid with the paddle attachment.
Note: you may want to put a strip of Saran wrap over the gap
between the mixer & the bowl.
This will help guard against flinging eggs..

Also, if you make this the day of like I did..
I used a whole 8 oz container of cool whip.

This dip should come with a warning label!
I seriously could eat the whole bowl with a spoon..
I bet it would be really good on top of a cake..

Enjoy!!

Anchors away...

I've been a busy little bee..
Between working and nesting.
I was asked a little while ago to make a quilt for
one of my Junebug friends..

This is what she picked..
I added the orange border while on quilt retreat..
& I found this swirly flannel for the back..

I started by outlining the boat
& sewed little chains down the dots to the anchor..
I outlined the waves..
I love the back..
Here if you look closely you can see the fish..
Ta Da!!! It's done..
Hubby was a good sport &
held the finished quilt for me..

I free-handed quilted Anchor's in the border..
here's a close up..

I got the panel "Ahoy Matey" & coordinating orange fabric at

Quilt Retreat

Another March Quilt Retreat was here
and
is gone..
I can't say I got much done this year..
I had high hopes..

Mom brought 5 projects and got three done..
This is one of her 3..
She loves those 5 yard quilt patterns
This was the other 5 yard quilt she did..
I don't think it was her favorite..

Meanwhile...
The pups spent the weekend at my sisters..
I think Rosie was little bummed tho,
she kinda sulked...

Jason's Quilt

Oooh..
the power of facebook..
Other than sucking me into the world of Candy Crush..
It has done many things for me..
like connecting me to old friends I haven't seen in years..
Like Jason.
He used to hang out in our little 'group'
not the popular kids but not the outcasts either..
I like to think looking back that our group was the middle class..

Jason has since moved to Sunny Florida..

While I look out the window and see this...

Jason had asked me many moons ago
if I would make him a quilt..
I've been collecting fabric for it since..

I started out making the log cabin blocks..
48 of them using 2 1/2 inch strips.

I kept sewing my strips on until I had just the right amount..
I made the pattern up using 'Quilt Wizard'
While 'Quilt Wizard' is like the EQ7 line of software
it's not nearly as expensive...

Next I started sewing my blocks into strips..
Until.....
I had this..

It's a bit larger than I thought it would be,
but with using 2 1/2" strips it had to be..
I'm quite happy with it.
I'm going to add a 1" border of black around the outside
then, another possibly 3 or 4" border of brown around that..
